The Designer Behind Taylor Swift’s World-Famous Chiefs Down Jacket Is Now Collaborating With The NFL

Taylor Swift has brought seemingly endless attention to the NFL in recent weeks by attending her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s games. But her fashion on and off the field has also garnered attention, especially because she wore customized pieces courtesy of sportswear designer Kristin Juszczyk.

Juszczyk, who describes herself as a “completely self-taught” designer, has gained a social media following by reimagining traditional sports jerseys, T-shirts, and other merchandise (blankets, pillows, and even the soccer ball itself) into stylish, customized pieces ranging from knee-length jackets to corsets and miniskirts. Her designs emphasize sportswear imagery such as logos and jersey numbers, catering to soccer fans in a fashion-forward way.

On her Instagram feed, Juszczyk often shares videos comparing the before and after looks of her pieces as well as the design process.

The 29-year-old, who is married to San Francisco 49ers linebacker Kyle Juszczyk, just signed a licensing deal with the NFL that allows her to officially use the NFL logo on men’s and women’s apparel.

Juszczyk attended college in Rhode Island and Maryland and graduated from Towson University with a degree in business administration and marketing. (Juszczyk writes on her website that it was in Maryland that she met her now-husband , who was playing for the Baltimore Ravens at the time.) But she learned how to sew at a young age and spent “countless nights crocheting with my grandmother.” Was watching ‘Wheel of Fortune,'” she wrote online. As an adult, her passion for crafts was rekindled when she made couples’ Halloween costumes for herself and her husband.

Her creations have garnered particular public attention, thanks to a customized duffle coat for Taylor Swift – emblazoned with the jersey number of Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, 87 – that the singer made on Jan. 13 for the Kansas City Chiefs. -which the singer wore to a Jan. 13 Chiefs game. But Swift isn’t the only one doing it. With Juszczyk’s one-of-a-kind creations; Brittany Mahomes, who is married to Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and whose number is emblazoned on her down jacket, and the designer’s work for Simone Biles, Simone Biles, who is also a member of the team, have been wearing the jacket. Simone Biles is married to Jonathan Owens of the Green Bay Packers and Taylor Lautner is a Detroit Lions fan.

In a video shared by Instagram Reel Juszczyk showing the design process for Swift’s now-iconic pinstripes, Lautner may have predicted the deal in the comments section: ‘@NFL got the girl’s licensed stats,’ he wrote.

While watching the 49ers play the Lions on Jan. 28, Juszczyk seemed to have no doubt that her husband’s team would win and advance to the Super Bowl (where they will now face the Chiefs). After the game, Juszczyk rolled up the sleeves of her 49ers full-length down jacket to reveal the words “Super Bowl Bound” embroidered inside.

So as the big game approaches, Juszczyk’s followers are eager to see what the designer will come up with again.

“I’m so proud of her. She’s very talented and the pieces she puts out are unique. I’m very proud of her,” Kyle Juszczyk told NBC Sports Bay Area on Jan. 16 when asked about his wife’s designs going viral.
